Crabbin

Amongst all the shopping and eating in Texas we were able to squeeze in a little time for crabbin. Now I've been crabbin on the west coast before (for the delicious dungeness crabies) and noted that there are some differences with the Texas south shore crabbin. First off, the crabs are blue and smaller. Also, instead of sitting in a boat drinking, you sit on a tail gate of the nearest pickup truck drinking. I also noted that the blue crabies liked using their pinchers (aka claws) a lot more. As for the similarities...both involve a lot of waiting around and drinking. Both involve baiting with chicken necks (and other various chicken parts).
And after waiting patiently, we were handsomely rewarded with fine specimen.
Nice colors, but a real testy little cuss this one was!
