Flarida

I'm not quite sure where Flarida is, but you could definitely get a good deal on a Flarida cap in Florida.

Manatee Whisperer

Not only does Jim possess the uncanny ability to lure caged stingrays right to his hand, he seems to have a special connection with the manatees. Florida's turned him into a regular flannel clad Aquaman!

Sting Ray Slayer

Look at the way Jim lures the unsuspecting sting rays with his bare hand! Fearless!

The Wovel

My infatuation with the Wovel has come to an end. While the mechanical principles of the wheel, wedge, and lever are tried and true, I remained a bit skeptical about this contraption and ended up not buying one. With the money saved I bought two other shovels and still had money left over. Perhaps I should have bought a third shovel now that I have a garage to store them in.?.?

White Rim

My neighbor just put together some panoramic shots from our White Rim bike trip. Gorgeous! A stark contrast to all the snow we have right now.

Moss Moss, Everywhere Moss

It's definitely moss season up in the Portland area. Everywhere you look, moss is taking over. Even the poo around here grows moss!

I was thinking of purchasing a glass tree this year, until I heard the bidding started at $26,000. I've started saving for next year.

A Different Pink

I really need to get out of the house. I've been listening to Pink way too much this week. Thanks Chau.

The Pink Worm

While in Houston last week, my manager and his wife hosted a little Sunday afternoon party at their lake house. When we arrived, there was a fishing rod setup for each person who expressed interest in going fishing. I was told I had a "special setup" waiting dockside. The "special setup" was a bright pink plastic worm. Everyone else had less flamboyant worms and salamanders. (the joke stems from my pink suitcase I'm sure) The joke came full circle when the only fish we caught all morning was on the pink worm!

What's Better than a Pile of Clean Clothes and a Haiku?

A second pile of clean clothes...

Continuing Freshness with a Haiku

As if the wall of blueberries wasn't enough freshness for the room, the hotel staff washed the pile of dirty clothes I had sitting in the corner making for a super fresh room! Now I know lots of hotels wash your clothes, but what made this surprise extra fresh and special was the haiku that accompanied the washed clothes.

Who doesn't love a good haiku with their clean clothes?

Refreshing Hotel

I always like staying at the Indigo hotel when I'm in Houston. Something about it feels much more refreshing than other hotels. Funny thing is I could never really put my finger on those feelings of freshness until this trip. Blueberries. It's definitely the fresh blueberry wallpaper.

The Genius of the River Guide

When staying on River Walk in San Antonio it's mandatory to take a boat ride on the river. Instead of posting pictures of the river I had to snap this one of the guide and his genius of a sign. In case you missed it, or have poor eyesight, here it is enlarged.

Shameless (well sort of) and to the point. I'm going to make a recommendation to the Brighton Ski & Snowboard School to have this embroidered on the back of the instructors' jackets. Although I'll probably recommend changing the word "drivers" to "instructors". Genius!

The Old and the New

The Old.
And six long months later, the New.
Well almost all new. If you look closely you'll notice a little piece of the old hanging on the side of the new. It's so nice to finally have it complete. Well except for the door. Looks like the door could still use some paint.

That's It, I'm Leafing

Today is the day (well actually yesterday was the day) the tree in front of our house decided to drop it's leaves. Is this really worth posting? Probably not, but it always amazes me how this tree doesn't gradually loose it's leaves rather it just drops them all at once. Amazing. Thanks to the worldwide interweb, now you too can be amazed.

The Night Crew

The Brighton night crew (and Ms. Mills, aka my locker buddy) pose for a picture up at Brighton. If you're saying wait a minute, that doesn't look like Brighton, is that some sort of secret building I've never seen before? Well, kind of. It's the new eating establishment at the base of Milly. Bring on the snow!

Picasso

As I'm getting the house primed and ready to paint, I can't help but hear my dad's old sideline painting chants running through my head..."Com'on, slop it up there! It's not a Picasso or Rembrandt!"
